When Luca Guadagnino’s remake of Susperia was released in 2018, critic’s and audiences were sharply divided. Some felt that it was one of the greatest horror remakes filmed. Others felt that the movie built up to an unsatisfying conclusion.
But one element of the film that everyone could agree on was the haunting score composed by Thom Yorke, one of the clear highlights of the film. I often listen to it while writing, it’s ethereal, spooky, and stands on its own apart from the films.
The third track, Susperium, is a beautiful stand alone single, and has one of the most apropos lyrics for a movie about dancers: “All is well, as long as we keep spinning.”
