    Most of us, while attempting to write haiku, end up composing a senryu. Personally, I dig that, giving the classic form some modern zest and punch.

    • I like distinguishing between the two, but I definitely prefer the modern method of counting 17 syllables or less. Makes them feel less forced.

    I once wrote a humorous speech based on the little word “up” and all its uses. Let us hope your muse doesn’t stand you up ….a bad habit up with which you will not put.
