I find ballet dancers endlessly fascinating, because they have to merge being artists and athletes at the same time. This collaboration between Sergei Polunin and David Lachapelle is perfect showcase for the balance between both.
The video was directed by Lachapalle and released in 2015 and is up to 22 million views on YouTube. It launched Polunin, already an award winning performer, to a completely new level of fame. He recently appeared in Murder on the Orient Express, and also has a role in the upcoming movie Red Sparrow.
Everytime this pops up on social media, I can’t not watch it. It’s so beautiful!

It.may be urban legend but I’d heard he was going to quit dancing and this was his goodbye. He’s such a beautiful dancer. I just love his feet!

Well—going to be is the operable term here—when the video went viral he got so much attention and press and job offers. I hope he is still dancing!
