We Can’t Stop

I’ve written before about how I used to write Miley Cyrus off as a trivial former Disney star who tried too hard, and have since done a complete about face. This is the video that changed my mind about her, and made me take a second look at a lot of entertainers I had previously written off.

Filmed for the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, it takes her megahit “We Can’t Stop,” and turns it into a simple acoustic version. Her singing is fantastic, and her genuine smile wins me over just as much as the spot on vocals. I find more and more that I appreciate any artist/entertainer who shows honest enthusiasm for what they do, and she is one of them.

Honestly she’s been growing on me too, I hope she can keep out of the ‘crazy’ and weird image and just go for classy like this.

  2. I too assumed she was all about the publicity and less about the talent, and knew nothing of her or her music. Was very recently proved wrong and wow that girl can really sing! Nice post 🙂

  3. She’s grown on me a bit too watching her give solid advice on the voice. I’m glad she’s out of that weird phase cause her voice is pretty decent.

  4. I agree, Miley is really special and genuine. I saw her as a judge on The Voice. She was wonderful, you should see some clips from that. Excellent at judging and genuine in wanting to help people. Great post of yours.

  5. Funny, back when she was Hanna Montana, I was fairly impressed with her. Now I think she’s a spoiled dope. Although this is a nice song and I really like the Brady Bunch staging.
